Here’s a funny USB Memory Stick story for you – Last year an experiment took place in South Africa, involving a carrier pigeon called Winston, a USB Memory Stick and an ADSL Internet connection.
The experiment, setup by a Durban based IT company really put South Africa’s largest internet provider to the test. The test was to see if a pigeon could deliver an uploaded 4GB Memory Stick to a specific destination (60 miles away) faster than the same file being sent via the internet – to the same destination.
The idea for the race came when a member of staff at the IT company complained about the speed of data transmission on ADSL.
He said, “It would be faster by carrier pigeon.”
So, who won? The pigeon of course. Apparently it took the pigeon 2 hours to reach its destination – within that time only 4% of file had been sent via the internet – amazing!

One thing’s for sure, there’s no way Winston or any pigeon, could print, Pantone match, upload data and deliver branded memory sticks fast than we can! In fact, I’m not sure anyone else can.
